About The Department of Alabama
Here at the Department of Alabama, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 1926, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Organization upon: support, empowerment and progress. Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. The Department of Alabama emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.
We are dedicated to a single purpose: fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served. DAV does this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of earned benefits available to them, fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill, providing access to employment resources and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
